Kickin' Red Christmas
Written by DeLoris Musick

This tutorial is solely my creation.  Any resemblance to others is purely coincidental.
I used PSP 12 for this tutorial, but can be made in previous versions as well.
No outside filters needed.
Because of the animation, do not use drop shadows unless you want to add a white background.
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.

Supplies Needed:
Elf
This darling Christmas Elf was made by Becky, of Moon Gazers Designs.
Isn't she lovely?
Thank you Becky for the permission to use her in my tutorial!
This is one of a set of tubes that may be purchased at the
Katelynns Design Store.

Candy Cane Ornament Script
This is a lovely and easy to run script by Brenda and Glenda of JosDzigns.  All you do is load the script,
select the colors when prompted and it does the rest.
Many thanks for giving me permission to use it!
You can purchase this script at
Katelynns Designs Store.

Creating The Tag
Run the Candy Cane Ornament Script.
Resize 15%
Merge both candy cane layers.

Add a name and position on the tag layer.
Merge name and tag.

Duplicate the tag layer and rotate that layer to the left 5 degrees.
Duplicate all other layers.
Close off all duplicate layers.

Merge all other layers.
Close off this merged layer and open all duplicate layers.
Merge these layers.
Open the other merged layer.

Keep the duplicate merged layer on top.

Resize Elf 8%.
Copy and position like my example below:

Duplicate the Elf.
On the duplicate layer, with the warp tool, move her foot till her heel is touching the tag.
Close off the bottom elf layer and make sure both elves are lined up and only her foot moves.
Redo if needed.

Move the duplicate candy cane layer to under the duplicate elf:

Merge duplicate elf and candy cane layers.  Then merge the other 2 layers together.
Save file to be opened in Animation Shop.

ANIMATION SHOP

Open the file and twinkle tube supplied in Animation Shop.

Working on the tag file: Duplicate the 1st frame 4 times.
You should have 5 layers of frame 1 total.

Duplicate what is now frame 6 - 2 times.
There should be 8 frames total.
View animation to see if everything is lined up correctly.

If you are happy with the tag as is, (resize if desired) save as a gif file.

Adding Sparkles

Resize the sparkle 50%.  Edit/Copy.
Click on a frame and paste the sparkle where you want it to go.
Click on another frame and place the sparkle in a different location.
Continue repeating the above step till you have as many as you want.
View animation and undo if you have to many.
When done, resize if desired and save as a gif.
Here's mine and I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial.
